ARCHITECTURE COLLAGES WORKSHOP
In the context of the 'summer special' at Phaeno Wolfsburg, Unit 404 hosted a workshop dealing with architectural collages in august 2024. Participants were invited to create collages from hundreds of architectural photos collected and curated by the collective. We refrained from imposing a narrowly defined task but rather encouraged them to work independently.
Our intention was to create an open environment in which everyone felt comfortable to find their own way of expressing themselves without feeling the pressure of having to justify their creative decisions. This led to a calm and intimate atmosphere where people did not hesitate to communicate with each other and exchange ideas.
Participants could switch between working on their personal project or to join a collaborative team and to collage with others.

SCIENCE TALK
As part of the Phaeno Summer Special, we were kindly invited to take part in a panel discussion exploring the the vast question of how art, science, and technology intersect and influence one another. The impressive line-up of experts taking part in the discussion resulted in a lively but somewhat chaotic atmosphere, reflecting the sheer breadth of the topic.
While the discussion offered fascinating insights and raised interesting questions, the scope of the theme and the number of voices in the room made it clear that no definitive answers were possible. However, a somewhat nerdy detour into the realm of science fiction narratives ultimately proved to be the most tangible common denominator.
